The Unimpressive, Forgetful Tooth Fairy

This morning Ry comes in our room and announces the tooth fairy hasn't left him anything.

OOPS!

I grabbed $2 and covertly head into his room to stuff it down his pillowcase as if he's missed it.

When we go back in to check and see if he "missed" it the first time around, I pull out the $2.

"Ohhhh, yea!" he says.  "How much is it?"

I unroll the 2 bills, and announce, "$2! Awesome!"

And he responds, "Augh..$2 AGAIN??!  Geesch, I really needed a $50!"

A visit tonight from..the tooth fairy!

Tooth #2 came out tonight!
(Well, technically #3, but since he lost that years ago to a bathtub accident, we're not counting it!)

Spiderman!

THIS is who greeted me first thing this morning.
Ry is going through a costume phase.  Well, it's lasted on and off over a year, so perhaps it's not a phase?
I've finally had to make the rule "no sleeping in costume!" after we'd put him to bed in pjs, I'd return a few hours later to check on him and find him sweating in full costume.  So..weird!?
Sometimes, when we are driving somewhere, we will arrive and I'll turn around to tell them to hop out, and our favorite superhero is peering back at me. Crazy!  =)

3,2,1!

Ry and Uncle Patrick ready to launch the rocket!

Juls thinks it's pretty cool too. She ran and caught this one on the way down.

A boy and his toy.

Love!

Blastoff

Ryan had a memorable afternoon learning to blow things up with the rocket and launcher Uncle Patrick and Aunt Crystal gave him for Christmas.

Tommy The Turtle + Mystery Egg

Ryan was super bummed that we wouldn't let him buy a turtle on our Destin trip. He saw a little one in a gift shop and has yet to let us forget about it. My parents found this little guy in their landscaping and brought him over to try and appease our little man.  Mission successful.

After a few days in captivity (and seriously, in my opinion torture by a 6 yr old and 4 yr old!) we convinced Ry it was best to let his little friend go free. That if he was so happy staying at our house, he would stick around, and if he missed his family he would be free to go off and find them again.

While spending time with Glammie and Papa, Ryan found this egg near their house.

Of course, we had to bring this little piece of nature home too.  Papa said whatever was inside was no longer living.  Naturally, my little guy had to remove it from it's location and bring it home.  (Thank you, mom! AUGH!)  I did check with our scientist neighbor to make sure it wasn't a snake egg or anything.  She confirmed it was most likely a duck or goose egg. Ewww!

All Boy...

Today I received a phone call from the school secretary telling me,
"Ryan found some mud on the playground and he'll be needing
some new shoes, new shorts, new shirt..um, you probably want to go
ahead and bring him up an entire new outfit!"
My dear boy, someday when you have a son of your own, I want to make sure you r
emember all these things...and your poor wife..and the laundry she will endure!! =)

Read and Run

Ry hangs with his friends pre-race.
He makes it! One mile. Yeehaa! =)
He tells me, "Mom, I think I need to go home and take a shower."
I forget my little photographer friend (Julia) always views me from this low angle!
Proud finishers of 26 books + 26 miles.
(They just ran the last mile together!)

Ry hearts the school nurse!

Our little guy LOVES the school nurse...He's visited her nearly everyday for the last few weeks.  After the note he brought home tonight, we are really going to have to put the kaboosh on this nonsense!

Kindergarten Musical

Uncle Patrick and Aunt Crystal wait excitedly for the program to begin.

Julia and Uncle Patrick goofing around taking a break from making princess dresses during the event.

The musical was sweet.  Our little guy is in the center of this photo surrounded by his classmates.
We failed in an epic way in the photo department--somehow with two still cameras and a digital camera this is about all we have to show for tonights memories...eek!

Ry's Lego Party

Malina, Julia, Izzy, Ryan, Braden, Andrew and Nicolas take a rest from Lego building to pose for a pic.

Make a wish!

Build, build, build!
Who can make the tallest tower? Who can build the sturdiest bridge?

My goofball and Izzy take a girlie break and work on the princess puzzle.

Birthday Breakfast

What better way than to start the day with his favorite donut?!
Happy birthday, my SIX year old boy!

Ryan Christmas Party

Ry LOVES his teacher this year, Mrs. Kraus.
He had to pose for a pic at his class party with his idol--right after swiping the red icing off the top of his cupcake.  Lucky for me, he doesn't like ice cream, so he gave me his entire cup of Dippin Dots. Score!

Morgan V and Ry line up after the party for school dismissal.
He does NOT want to be "parent pick up" today..he begs to ride the bus home!

Merry Christmas sweet kindergarteners!

Worship Team

Ry has been SUPER excited that he's recently been able to serve on Metro's worship team for Adventureland.  This is the ONLY pic I took of their practice that wasn't all blurry from the dancing movement.  He's loving this opportunity!

He Passed!

Our proud little guy GRADUATED pre-k tonight!

Ryan left the house in his Santa hat.
When we arrived at school, I pulled it off his head and threw it back in the car.
Ry protested and said, "But Mom! Ms. Cathy told me we had to wear hats tonight!"
Guess they didn't practice their ceremony with the motarboards. =)

The grads entertained us with a fun little program...
Julia just wanted to run, run, run...all night long!
We're all so proud of you, Ry-guy!

Ry tells me he is NOT going to kindergarten next year.

Here are some of his reasons:
- He has heard they do lots of hard projects.
- He just wants to stay a kid and keep picking his nose.
- He just wants to stay home with mommy and play.

Kindergarten Registration

Today I signed this little boy up for kindergarten...
...all the while he hung on to my leg and said,
"I don't want to go to school. I just want to stay
home and play games with you!"
