Surprisingly, we didn't make quite the mess I had expected!

Hatching A Turtle!
Uncle Mat brought his class to the Magic House a few weeks ago and brought us home a treat -- an egg you put in water and 48-72 hours later a little turtle hatches out of the egg. The kids were super excited this morning when we opened up the package. I don't think Ry quite got the concept of what waiting 48 hours is, because he sat at the table and stared intently at this egg for a bit expecting something to happen. Of course, Julia wanted in on the action, because it looked exciting...a big bowl of water..imagine the mess she could make with that!!

Just Like Daddy!
Jeff has been working on tearing down the existing deck and building a new one, and doing some other misc projects around the yard. Tonight Ry came in the house and got his winter gloves and told me "I need gloves like Daddy!" (Jeff was wearing work gloves!) So we put on his mittens and out he went to be a "big helper" with our outdoor projects!
Big Girl!
Our big girl doesn't want me to feed her from the spoon anymore..she would rather do it all herself, which we SO don't prefer because this means between her crawling all over the ground outside and feeding herself she needs MULTIPLE baths a day(not to mention laundry!)..which she doesn't seem to mind, but is getting tiring for mommy!

Bike Riding
Tonight we rode our bikes up to the YMCA for the kids to play on the playground for a little bit. Ry does really well in the trailer, especially when Julia starts "hogging" the trailer by laying on him. =)
Mother's Day
Later we went to Amy and Jeff's house for lunch and enjoyed Aunt Amy's great cooking (far too much of it!) then back to our house for dessert with the Harriss family where we munched on apple pie and Aunt Crystal's Spanish chocolate brownies!
The kids had a blast getting to see all his aunts, uncles, grandparents and cousin!

Morning Time
I love our mornings (as long as they begin after 7:30am. hehe)! We usually come down and snuggle on the couch for a bit while the kids have warm milk, and then we make breakfast...eggs and hash browns for Julia and I this morning, and cereal for Ryan (our compromise instead of the iced animal crackers he wanted).
Ryan plays ball with the "big" boys!
Last night we were having dinner and Ryan saw the big kids playing outside in the cul-de-sac and was dying to go out and play. So we let him take his basketball and run out. The boys were really great about letting our little guy join in on the fun.

Piggy Bank
The staff at Cloverleaf seem to adore the kids...and spoil them! They took both kids back behind the counter to let them pick out a sucker. It was such a big decision for Ryan, they gave him one of each color, and of course, gave our Jugi similiar treatment.

Murder on the Grill
Tonight Jeff and I hosted a murder mystery dinner party. We invited some friends from Metro. We all had so much fun dressing up as our 1950's era characters and trying to figure out who killed our friend Tom at a BBQ we were all at. Jeff was a Russian rocket scientist named Ivan, and I was a journalist named Peggy Sue.
