Halloween Parade

In our area, everyone trick or treats the night before Halloween, and attends a large parade on Halloween. Our Batman spent most of the parade by his two girlfriends, Josie and Izzy.
And off goes the mask...gotta see to get more candy!

We decided to grab some Mexican after the festivities. Ryan and Izzy requested their own table. Humm...

And Julia and Josie sat together...maybe not the wisest decision we've ever made. Julia spilled her chocolate milk all over. Like ALL OVER the place. I think our waiter might have gotten the biggest tip ever after this visit, as Jeff felt really bad for the "trouble" we'd caused!

Pumpkin Carving

Just FYI this is not your regular blogger; this is the handsome husband so often mentioned. I thought I would post what I...ur I mean the kids were able to carve with Grumpy's tools.

And the results of all this mess....

Back to your regularly scheduled blog.

Pre-Trick or Treating

Glammy stopped by this afternoon (yes, it is a much needed pj day!!) and humored the kids with some indoor trick or treating.
Knock, knock!
Trick or treat! Then my grandparents stopped by for a visit as well. The kids weren't sure what to think of grandpa's costume!

New Blankies - For All!

Ry had a little case of jealousy when Grandma recently made replacement blankies for Julia. (Which since her old ones showed up...seriously, a miracle we still can't figure out!!!) He asked Grandma to make him a "blue, green and yellow" blankie for him too. This new blankie was delivered today. =)

Halloween Playdate

Today we had some friends over for a Halloween playdate. I fortunately snapped this picture of Buzz Lightyear and Woody (Jake and Andrew) before the costumes were stripped off! =)
Carrie, Karina, Julia, Holly, Andrew, Taran, Spencer, Ryan, Jake and Jack enjoy some lunch.
Holly helps the kids in a round of "pin the bat on the pumpkin" game.
Julia/Cinderella shows me her "don't mess with me I'm eating this cookie" face.
Surprise..she finished every last crumb!
Jack (Indiana Jones today!) and Jake enjoy a laugh.
A loud room full of chaos. =)
Julia and Tyler play on the "computers" post-party. Checking FB, perhaps? Hehe.

Preschool Fall Festival

Julia enjoyed her time today at the preschool fall festival party.
She and Tyler thought it was great fun to eat the Fruit Loops off their necklaces.
Tarra helps her Mason string his necklace while Maggie and Mason L. look on.
Of course, I had to peek in Ryan's class too. He seemed to be having fun as well!

A Love Affair Shattered

I LOVE(ed) my vacuum.
Very important, when you have a shedding dog and two young children.

Tonight it caught FIRE, sending sparks flying out the cord. CRAZY, right?
This is my second fire of the week.
Round one was in the microwave with popcorn. Oops!
Naturally, this occurs the night we are having company, and with two additional gatherings planned in the next 48 hours. Lovely.

I Heart My MIL!

I have somehow managed to lose BOTH of Julia's blankies in a 12 hour period. (This all happened between pickup at preschool and the pumpkin farm!?) Of course, this happens when Jeff is set to take off for New York and leave me to single parent this stressed out 2 year old!

My neighbor, Trina, crocheted these blankies for Julia when she was born...and out of all the blankets we bought/were gifted, this was the one which she fell in love.

Fortunately, Trina still had some of the yarn...and picked up some more for me today. (THANK YOU!)

Grandma is a big HERO here, whipping out a little substitute (which I am happy to report Julia is taking to quite well!) in one afternoon...while somehow also baking cookies with the kids. THANK YOU, GRANDMA!

Pumpkin Farm

My neighbor, Carrie was bringing her kids to the pumpkin farm this afternoon and invited us to join them...it was a perfect weather day...I'm so glad it worked out!

The kids picked these apples off a tree...and chomped on them the entire way home...this was all that was left of Julia's. She ate the core?!

Erica is...

listening/watching Julia, who is in the shower and picking up each individual fish tub toy ...squeezing it tight to her tummy, patting it, and saying: "It's ok. It's ok. Don't be scared. There are no monsters in your room."

My Snuggle-Bugs

Boys and Talent?

You know, having a 4 year old boy in the house has introduced conversations I have both been a part of and overheard that I never envisioned as a part of motherhood. For example:

Ryan (screaming from bathroom): Hey, Andrew, wanna come look at this HUGE poop I just made?"
