Pool Party

Jeff set up our little pool in the backyard this afternoon and let the kids play for a bit since our other pool plans fell through with the storms...not QUITE the same, but they still seemed to have lots of fun!
I was telling the kids to "smile" for the camera and our bossy little guy was trying to get baby sister to look at the camera and smile. She is like his little doll sometimes!

Family Lunch for Memorial Day Weekend

Glamma, Aunt Krista and Aunt Amy hanging out before lunch.

Uncle Mat and Aunt Beth

Uncle Brian, Aunt Krista, Cousin Tyler and Baby #2

We had planned to go to the pool today..if only the forecasters had been accurate in the prediction of 85 degrees and sunny...because I think it has been in the high 60's and hailing..not exactly our idea of a good pool day. So, we still met up with the family for a nice lunch out at Sunset. Fortunately, they usually give us a private room so that the kids can run around!

Bonifest

It's been a busy weekend so far! Last night we brought the kids to the Bonifest after church. When we first got there, we asked Ry if he wanted to ride the ferris wheel and he said "No!" After checking it out for a bit he decided he'd changed his mind, so Ry and Mommy rode it together. He seemed to really enjoy it, while I was happy he was having so much fun, but I couldn't stop thinking about that ride in California that broke and all those people came crashing to the ground. So the whole time I tried to stay positive for Ry saying "look how high we are, cool!" and "look at all those people down there, what fun everyone is having at this carnival!" type of stuff. If it's possible to develop fear of heights as you age, I might be doing so!!
Then Ry really wanted to ride this roller coaster, which (FORTUNATELY!) he was 2 inches too short to go on. So he rode on the train ride 3 times (his favorite) and the cars once.
We finished our night off with a purple sno-cone, which was the closest thing to the ice cream Ry was requesting. A bit of a messy treat, but both kids seemed to enjoy sharing it! =)

Our Turtle Bob

Our turtle finally "hatched". Ryan decided he was a boy (that was a funny story...he saw the tail on the turtle and told me he was definitely a boy. hehe.) He decided to call him Bob. Bob the turtle is currently riding around in the trunk of Ryan's tricycle (he's riding inside today because it's rainy out). Ry fed Bob blueberries and peas for lunch.

She's Standing - All By Herself!!!

Taaa-Daaa!!!And playing with sidewalk chalk...and getting very dirty! =)I'm a big kid now!!!

Cul-De-Sac Kids

Now that the weather is getting warmer, the kids all hang out on our cul-de-sac. We don't mind at all, because Ry loves playing with everyone, and it's nice we can keep a close eye on them then, too!

Here they all were looking for bugs for the bug container...

Ry's Big Boatride

The kids usually spend Wednesdays with Jeff's parents. Today, Mr. Ford (the neighbor across the street) offered to bring Ry for a special boat ride. So I kept Julia for the day (it would have been during naptime for her) and Grandma and Papa brought Ry on the boat. He is STILL talking about it! =)

Julia and Tyler Shopping

c
Julia and Tyler spent the morning shopping together. At one point, someone asked Krista if they were twins. =)

Ryan and Paige

We had a busy night. Grandma and Papa Harriss came over and helped Jeff with the deck and Grandma brought cookies for the kids.

Paige (age 6) came over and played with Ryan. He seemed to LOVE every moment they spent on the swing set. Being his bossy self, he was asking her to swing him and she was obliging. He did stop his playing long enough to run up to the kitchen for some juice boxes. Later when her mom Laura called, he walked her home, holding her hand the entire way. Wish I could have gotten a pic of THAT...it was DARLING. As we walked up her driveway he told her "I had fun playing with you. You come over again tomorrow."

We all thought them walking hand in hand was just tooo sweet!!

Working on the Deck

The Boys on Wheels

Ry is getting pretty fast riding his tricycle. This night he said "Daddy, you skate, and I ride my bike." So off they went...

Julia and Uncle Patrick

Uncle Pat put his hat on Julia and she surprisingly didn't pull it off! Here is a sweet little moment they shared..

Julia and Uncle Jeff

Julia is a mommy's girl, but she sure seems to enjoy her Uncle Jeff! He was over on Saturday to help with the deck project...
