Easter Egg Dying

Aunt Stacy is a Pinterest Queen, and she found a neat idea for dying Easter eggs online.
Her idea required us all to make silly faces.
Muuhhh!
Typical Ryan. =)
Gram getting crazy.
Papa posing for his egg pic.
Not sure how, but I don't have any pictures of the final results! EEK!
We printed the pictures out and mod-podged them on the eggs.

Read and Run

Today the kids participated in the Read and Run event at their school.  They've read 26 books,  eaten 26 healthy snacks, and done 26 hours of exercise. In celebration, the crew all ran the last mile of their 26 together at the school.  Julia participated also, but I've gotten terrible lately with taking pictures!

Princess Day

Aunt Stacy got great private box seat tickets through her work to Disney Princesses on Ice.
Guess who she called and invited to go? =)
Juls was beyond excited to get a special day with mommy and Aunt Stacy!

Julia's Skating Party.

Juls decided to celebrate 6 she wanted to have a skating party.
The day before said party, she was super duper sick.
(Have I mentioned what a nightmare February has been for our family!?)
She still didn't feel good on party day, but she could at least sit up
and was a trooper and made it to the party to see her
friends and thank them for coming!
Em thinks the walkers are a pretty neat-o invention.
Uncle Mat and Coleman get their skates on!
She invited her entire kindergarten class + other friends.
While she wasn't interested in eating a cupcake,
I had her pose with one to at least blow out the candle.
She loves everyone singing to her! =)
Sugar -- yummo!
Reese, Maddie and Mason sit and enjoy a cupcake!

Julia, Hannah, Annie and Audrey.

Shawn, Josh and Mike.
Aunt Krista keeps Colin happy for a bit with some sugar. Nothing like a good bribe! =)
Em has always been a big daddy's girl. I think I know his secret now! =)
Present time!

I realize this isn't the most flattering pic of Emerson, but I'm posting it for her eyes.
This blog is our documentation of her progress, and helps me remember how she was doing on which dates--something her Drs are always asking me about.
You'll see here, something is still off.
Happy 6 to my sweet "baby" girl!!

Happy Birthday Daddy and Juls!

Before work/school this morning we had a birthday party here!
Jeff and Jul share a birthday.
Our birthday girl has made a card for Daddy for their special day!
Jul is excited to see what Ryan picked out for her.
Gram is off staying warm in Arizona this winter, but she sent a present for our birthday princess.
Daddy gets some birthday lovin'.
Jeff 36, Julia 6.
They're getting ready to have a "Just Dance" danceoff party.

February Blahs!

Santa must hate us, because he brought Juls some
makeup for Christmas.
And she has been looking like THIS lately.
I'm frankly not really sure what the appropriate parenting response to this is.
Baby Em's eyes are going crazy again.
You can see a little bit in this pic.
One eye wandering out.

The boys have been playing LOTS of games on their tablets lately.
We've spent much of February passing the norovirus around...it's a virus that is flu-like, except you don't build up immunity, so you can get it over and over and over.
Think groundhog day.
I couldn't wipe things down around here anymore with Chlorox wipes than we've already done!
Juls doesn't understand why I won't let her to Target on a medicine run in this getup.
Daddy (FINALLY!!)returns from the neverending ski trip and shares an apple with babycakes.
Did I mention how glad I am he's back. Because the fort nearly fell apart while he was gone!

It's hard to imagine the messes this sweet little face can make!! =)

Greats Visit + Juls emerging writing skills

Babycakes is the messiest kid of all our kids so far.
It is near impossible for her to have a meal without most of it ending up on the floor.
Drives me CRAZY.
Today, I decided she needed to pull some of her own weight and vacuum up after herself.
She LOVED it.
This is the greatest fun!
(Who needs "real" toys?!)
Then the "greats" stopped by for a visit.
Papa LOVES Emerson!
(I think she kinda likes him too!)
Sweetness.

And on another note, Julia (or "Julie" as she still signs her papers!!?) is working hard on spelling.
I just adore these emerging writing skills!

Happy St. Patty's Day Run 2013!

Jeff, Stacy and Patrick all ran in the St. Patrick's Day Run in St. Louis.
The kids and I met them downtown post race.
Kiss me, I'm Irish!
We braved the cold another TWO hours so the kids could watch the coveted parade.
I think next year, we might just go buy them each a bag of candy and call it even. LOL!

Patching, Round 2

Em had her 2 week post surgery eye appointment today.
I was bummed to hear we need to patch her left eye now for 1 hour a day.
Her right eye is going outward at times now (Intermittent Extropia).
This is frustrating, because surgery, this was her "good" eye.
Also, because I'm not sure if HATE is a strong enough word about how she feels about patching.
When I pulled out the patches today, she immediately remembered them.
And started fussing.
As she gets a little older there is a benefit to her understanding things a little more...
but also a negative because I know she doesn't understand WHY her momma is subjecting her to this torture.
Sweet little thing is a trooper.
Near the end of the 40 minutes she lasted with it today she had calmed down with a banana.
And then, she was DONE!
Here's to a very fast month and hoping after that we are finished with this madness!

BIG thanks to my parents for taking Ry & Jul overnight!
Admist all this, we've got a 24 hr flu bug here...
and I think Em is on at least outfit #4 due to explosive diarrea.
Living the dream!! =)
