Softball Bliss

Tonight we had softball. Ryan LOVED running around with Maddie, Morgan and McGrady. Here they are teasing Uncle Mat during the game.

And sweet Julia likes to stay near the bleachers and catch the action. I will be sad when those days are over!

After the games, we usually go out for ice cream. Ryan was buying the girls "drinks" of ice water with quarters Aunt Amy was giving to them...cheap dates! hehe. =)
He keeps telling us "I want bubble gum ice cream. It is my favorite!" We can't figure out where he ever even HEARD of bubble gum ice cream, as we always get him plain vanilla!

Sibling Love or Rivalry?

Ryan and Julia are really starting to "play" much more together. Ryan started a pillow fight with her this morning and I was surprised, she really held her own quite well!
While this may look like it is a loving tackle, he was going after her because she grabbed one of his Cheez-its and took off. =)
And friends we are again...

On another note: My mom is doing much better.
Julia's ears are looking good, although she is still stuffy enough to be up FIVE times in the night. I am trying to keep a positive attitude about that.

Will This Ever End??

Ok, so just when I feel like we are all finally maybe on the mend, the kids just got up from naps (or Julia, anyways...Ryan's naps are hit-and-miss anymore) and she has 101.4 temp. AGGG...so not sure if it's her ears, or a new virus, or what. But this is starting to get CRAZY. I feel like we've all been not in tip top shape since the colds started on Mother's Day weekend.
I know I haven't gotten to sleep all night through since then, anyways. =)
Just called the Docs office, and we've got a 10:30am appt. Got to get Julia's ears under control before we put her on an airplane to New York in 2 weeks!

On another note, my mom is really sick too! EEK!

Monday

Our little girl is CONSTANTLY on the telephone! This is her conversation: "Hi! Ya! Ya!"
And our boy CONSTANTLY plays trains! Here he is with his set from Aunt Kathy. He says "just two more minutes!" when we tell him it's time to do something other than play trains...like maybe naptime! =)

Father's Day

Dad and Krista pose together...

Grandma Schuette hanging out on the deck...

Celebrating LOTS! Happy 30th Uncle Mat, Happy Birthday Glamma and Grandpa Schuette and Happy Father's Day..note the cake says "Happy Everything" hehe.

Father's Day morning, we gave Jeff a book we made with photos of him and the kids saying what a great dad he is! I have a feeling this might be a new bedtime favorite!

Uncle Mat and Aunt Beth host our Father's Day/Birthday celebration!

Cousins Ry and Ty play some music...I think they both could use some lessons from Uncle Mat!

Our newest family member, Baby Lucas! Isn't he beautiful?

Daddy and Ry hanging in the pool.

On another note, Ry STILL has his fever. It's not so high, but it's still around. We'll be checking in with the doc in the am...augh!!

Family Reunion

Today was the family reunion for my mom's side of the family. (Glamma). I was planning to leave Ry at home, but his fever was down and he REALLY wanted to go. It is unbelievable the difference 12 hours makes!!! At 5am I was ready to rush him to the hospital with his high fever, and by 5pm he was wanting to go to the park and play and his fever was down.

Julia was experimenting with her walking a bit more at the park this afternoon, too. Jeff and I have been surprised lately how responsive she is with "yes" and "no" questions. We are used to asking her something, but not used to a response!

Ry Update 2

Doctor doesn't want to put him on antibiotic right now, because she feels like such a high fever couldn't have been caused by this sinus thing we are battling. She feels like that might mask any symptoms of what is causing this fever. We're hoping his body got warm enough at that (104.8) to fight whatever germs are in there!
So, praying that the fever stays down now and he has this thing kicked. He's sleeping right now...

RY UPDATE

Children's says to give him more Tylenol and that he is fine until his fever hits 105. We are pretty dang close, especially because the nurse asked me if I added a degree already for taking his temp under his arm - YIKES! She said 105 is when they usually like to see them, but most kids are okay until 106 or even 107. I was afraid to ask what "okay" meant.
His shaking has seemed to stop, and Children's wasn't worried about that. Possible febrile seizure, not serious as it sounds, just happens when child's temp rises or falls rapidly.
I just went up to give him the additional meds, and about 30 seconds after they went in he vomited that and a slew of other liquid up. Cottage cheese, anyone?
So, now our bed and Ry's bed both have clean sheets, and my child has had 2 showers in an hour...looking on the bright side...things are clean around here. (except Jeff and I!).
We're going to continue monitoring this fever, and connect with the Doc's office this am at 9 sharp!
Will keep posting updates....
8:16AM, he is responding well to tylenol. his fever is now 99 degrees, although he just told me he'd like to take another shower?!?!

PRAY FOR RYAN, HIGH FEVER

I am on the phone now trying to get doc. Ryan has 104.8 fever, and this is after I threw him in a shower. He cried out and I ran into his room and he had vomited and said "Look, Mommy!" and his little body was shaking so uncontrollably, and he said "I want to take a shower!" and then he seemed like he was going to throw up more, so I grabbed him and ran into his bathroom and told him if he had to do more, to try and throw up in the potty, and he started crying and told me "I want to take a shower, Mommy!" So we ran into our bathroom and I started the shower, and he wanted to get in when the water was still freezing cold. Then I was wondering about how safe this was, because the poor little guy is still shaking pretty good and I was afraid he was going to fall, so I was half in with him. Then I got him out and he surprisingly didn't protest and then he was shivvering so I wrapped him in a towel and laid him in bed next to Jeff. Then took that alarmingly high temp with the thermometer and gave him some Tylenol.
I just called the physicians exchange...waiting for a callback from Children's Hospital...
Say a little prayer for our little guy! I don't remember ever having this high of fever....and wonder how high it was BEFORE the cool-down shower!

Julia's 2nd Haircut

This morning Ry and I brought Julia to get her 2nd haircut. She sat pretty well in the chair, I was impressed!
Ryan was looking at her saying "baby is getting her hair cut!" and smiling.
Julia is still fighting this massive ear infection...it hasn't been much fun for any of us. She hasn't really walked much on her own since the other night, I am thinking with her ears full her balance might be off a bit.
Here is a pic of our little princess when we got home and she wanted to snack on Cheez-Its, of course!

Kids Bible Kamp Karnival!

Our church had KBK this week and I brought Ry to the carnival tonight. He LOVED the bounce house. It was a challenge to get him out, actually.
Here are some fun pics...

Daddy's Little Girl

Daddy and Julia enjoy a little head nuzzle after Jeff put her handprint in the concrete of our new deck. He also did Ryan's foot!

She's Walking!!

Tonight we went to a swim party at at Josh and Melissa's cool new house with our small group...the night I don't have the camera..and Julia decided to take off walking!!!
I did get a pic on the camera phone, so I'll have to see if we can get it off of there and on to here...

Grandma and Papa Harriss left a day too early on their trip!!
