Homecoming Parade

Last night was Edwardsville's Homecoming Parade. Of course, our children get excited about most anything involving candy, so we decided to meet some of our Metro friends up town for a bit of action. It was a really mild evening, so it was a great night to watch a parade and let the little ones run around (Sadly, our camera was on a crazy setting and most of our pictures are a blurry mess, so here are just a few that turned out okay.)

Josie, Ryan and Izzy wait patiently (not!) for the parade to reach us. They could hardly contain their excitement...most of these pics were VERY blurry, as the kids were hopping all around and the camera exposure was too long, apparently, for these quick moving kids!

Julia even hopped down out of the stroller and away from clinging to my leg to check out what was happening here. At first she didn't realize what was going on when the people in the parade were throwing out candy. And then she watched the other kids scramble to pick it up, and she very quickly caught on to this game!

I'm bummed our photos with Alex, Ashley and Alexis didn't turn out. Alex is Melissa and Josh's daughter (they are pictured above - she is in the white jacket and him in the black in the middle of the photo) and one of the kids babysitters, and Ashley and Alexis are in our youth group at church and also help out in Ryan's class. They were all in the parade on the cheerleading float, and gave Ryan and Julia LOTS of hugs and candy! Thanks girls!!

Awwww! Dylan is going to be in the Christmas parade in downtown Wake Forest with her dance team :-) she is excited! Re: the kidmobile...our Expedition is a GAS HOG. Very practical as far as room (seats 8 with trunk space), but the gas it guzzles is ridiculous. I prefer the 4 door Jeep Wrangler, but I didn't see it on the survey :-) I can fit 3 carseats in the back, so I justified it that way :-) Plus, it's fun for me :-)
